Fire plans: these are a requirement for new build complex buildings under most parts of BS 5588. For existing buildings without them it is impossible to seriously risk assess a building for which adequate plans do not exist. In multi-layer CAD format they can be used for satisfying the Regulatory Authorities that adequate fire protection facilities are in place.

All relevant items, such as populations and exit widths for means of escape, partition and lining duty, sprinklers, protected shafts, smoke control hardware etc, can be accommodated, and, most importantly, simply updated by relative non-specialists. They can be used to demonstrate compliance to insurers and any third party claimants or auditors.
The master layers can be emailed to specialist sub contractors to add their layer, e.g. sprinkler layer. It also makes tendering and asset control much more rigorous, as the playing field is ‘level’. A sample of a hypothetical building can be viewed by clicking the image above.
